Dear Guests,

The XIV International Juliusz Zarębski Music Competition will be held from March 24 to March 29. Accordingly we invite participants to compete in the following sections: piano (solo), piano (duet), cello and chamber ensemble. Competition auditions will take place in the modern Concert Hall of the Izabelin Cultural Centre completed three years ago with European funds. Not unlike two years ago, we plan to hold the Laureates Prizewinners Concert in the Concert Hall of Warsaw’s Royal Castle.

The Juliusz Zarębski Cultural & Education Foundation is this year’s competition organiser. Promoting the little known, and alas somewhat forgotten, works of one of Poland’s outstanding composers and eminent pianists, numbers amongst one of the foundation’s main aims. It is for this reason that we have invited laureates from past competitions to come and perform Zarębski’s works at the Inaugural Concert. We thereby hope not only to promote the competition patron’s works but also our young performer’s talent.

We have this year invited distinguished musicians and teachers to our competition jury.

We believe that thanks to our Competition we will succeed in creating a permanent venue for musical encounters – for students, teachers, and aficionados of music-making with children and young people – a genuine forum for the exchange of ideas and experience. We also hope that this competition will, for some, become an important stage on their path to a career in the world of music.

We will do our utmost to ensure that everyone who comes here, will not only feel comfortable, but also have a good and fulfilling time, and feel encouraged and eager to return.

With best wishes

Lucjusz Pinkosz
Competition Director
